International Society of Wheelchair Professionals Names Founding Board, Seeks Executive Director

After five years of operation under the auspices of the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA), the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP) recently named a Founding Board to establish itself as a separate organization outside of the university.  Establishing the separate entity has been a long-term goal and enables ISWP to work alongside other global organizations focused on improving the lives of people with disabilities.  Among its first duties, the Founding Board will hire an executive director who will transition the organization to a fully independent and financially sustainable non-profit international association. Après cinq ans de fonctionnement sous les auspices de l’Université de Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvanie, États-Unis), l’International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP) a récemment nommé un Conseil Fondateur pour s’établir en tant qu’organisation distincte en dehors de l’université. L’établissement d’une entité distincte était un objectif à long terme et permet à l’ISWP de travailler aux côtés d’autres organisations internationales axées sur l’amélioration de la vie des personnes handicapées. Parmi ses premières tâches, le Conseil Fondateur recrutera un directeur exécutif qui assurera la transition de l’organisation vers une association internationale à but non lucratif entièrement indépendante et financièrement pérenne. Después de operar cinco años bajo el auspicio de la Universidad de Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA), la Sociedad Internacional de Profesionales de Silla de ruedas (ISWP) nombró recientemente un Consejo Fundador con el fin de establecerse como organización diferenciada por fuera de la Universidad.  Establecerse como entidad independiente ha sido un objetivo a largo plazo y le permite a ISWP trabajar junto a otras organizaciones globales enfocadas en mejorar la vida de las personas con discapacidad.  Entre sus primeras funciones, el Consejo Fundador decide contratar un Director Ejecutivo para generar la transición hacia una organización internacional completamente independiente, sin fin de lucro y financieramente sustentable.
