Mentoring Pilot Phase 3

ISWP is seeking intermediate level wheelchair service providers for a mentoring pilot program – phase 3. The mentoring program will help improve participants’ skills to better assess for, prescribe and fit wheelchairs and postural support devices for intermediate level postural problems. This program will prepare intermediate service providers to pass the skills component of ISWP Wheelchair Service Provision Intermediate Test (2 case study submissions).

As a prerequisite, you are required to pass the Intermediate Wheelchair Service Provision Knowledge Test. 

Participants must meet the following prerequisites for the pilot:

  • Provide wheelchair services at the intermediate level
  • Fluent in English.
  • Available 1-2 hours/week from December 2017 to January 2017 (for a total of approx. 30 hrs) (no activities planned for the week for December 18th, 2017 to January, 2nd, 2018 in lieu of the holidays)

After completion of the mentoring pilot program, if the trainee passes both components of the ISWP Intermediate test (knowledge and skills), the trainee will be awarded the ‘ISWP Wheelchair Service Provider – Intermediate Level’ certificate.
